This week's selection is called AM Blues — a soundtrack for slow starts, unexpected journeys and the memories that certain records can unlock years later.

24hrs in GENEVA

One track in particular, You Crazy by Felipe Gordon, immediately transported me back to an impromptu trip to Geneva in the year after the pandemic. I was supposed to be heading to Amsterdam Dance Event, but travel restrictions meant my flight was cancelled. EasyJet wouldn't offer a refund, only a flight credit. The catch was that there seemed to be very few destinations available that matched the value of the original ticket—surprising, I know!

After a bit of searching, I ended up booking a spontaneous 24-hour trip to Geneva. What started as making the best of an awkward situation turned into one of those unexpectedly memorable adventures. Thanks to the city's visitor scheme, I was given unlimited free public transport throughout Geneva and around Lake Geneva, courtesy of the local tourism authority. With nowhere specific to be, I spent the day exploring the city, travelling by tram, train and boat, and simply enjoying the freedom of being able to travel again.

Listening to Felipe Gordon's You Crazy brought all of that flooding back—the spontaneity, the sense of possibility and the reminder that sometimes the best experiences come from plans going completely sideways.
